The Attack
This was a project for the Motion Creative course. The aim was to create a maximum 60-second animation telling part of a story that happened to me in the past. At the end of this page, you can read the story if you're curious!
In this animation, I used Photoshop to create all the assets. A brush with a charcoal effect was used in the lineup and painting process. I only had three days available to make this animation, so even though the illustrations weren't perfect, I was very happy to have completed everything.

The Attack
The trail that went to the river took around 15 minutes to cross. The first part of it was in an open field and passed where the cows were grazing during the day. The second and longer part of the trail went into the forest in a tunnel made of tall trees and vines.
I was holding a plastic bag filled with soap, clean clothes, a doll, and a chocolate bar. I planned to have the chocolate as a snack after finishing my bath in the small river. It was the first time I had taken that path alone.
Soon I was surrounded by the forest. Despite the sun still shining brightly in the sky, the dense forest did not allow much light to enter that part of the trail.
It was much darker than I remembered. It was different walking that path with my cousin because we were talking happily the whole time and all I could hear were our voices. Now that I was alone I could feel an even heavier presence of nature around me.
I jumped in fright when a bird flew past me. My heart was racing and my ears were listening.
I heard the sound of something moving in the dry leaves lying on the ground, behind the bushes that were growing densely.
I kept thinking about when my grandfather crossed the way of a huge peccary in the forest and it attacked him. He still has a big scar on his arm from that day.
No. I thought. It's probably some hen that's been pecking a long way from the farm.
But then I listened…
"OINK OINK OINK OINK OINK OINK"
I started running on the dark trail. I knew the creature was fast and would soon get me. But then…a hope of salvation appeared in front of me. I spotted the wooden gate that separated the forest from the river path. A chance to protect myself and escape alive.
I dropped the plastic bag. It was a difficult but necessary decision as I knew I would need both hands to climb the gate.
Well, when I was Safe at the top, I looked ahead and saw the animal. I noticed it had brown fur and was all dirty with mud from the pigsty.
It wasn't a wild pig. It was Juvenal, my cousin’s farm pig. I felt very foolish for running so much because of Juvenal.
My uncle always would bring to Juvenal his food in a plastic bag, this was why he was following me. He thought there was food in there. Well…there was.
